Legal action was taken against 3,569 persons for the illegal use of electricity while revenue amounting to over Rs.212 million was earned from raids carried out by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) last year, the Power and Energy Ministry said.
However, it said that illegal power tapping in 2012 had decreased by 50 per cent compared to the previous year.
The ministry stated that raids against the illegal use of electricity would continue this year with full force.
