A Chinese national has been arrested in Narahenpita for the possession of fourteen turtles.
Acting on information received, Narahenpita Police arrested the man and seized the turtles kept near the kitchen of a restaurant in the area.
The arrested suspect was produced at the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court and subsequently released on bail.
The magistrate ordered that the 14 turtles be handed over to the Dehiwala Zoo.
