A suspect was apprehended by the police in possession of a locally manufactured firearm in the Karannawa area of Potuvil, police stated.
The suspect was arrested after the Police Special Task Force received a tip off following which they had conducted a raid.
Furthermore, the police seized 12 bullets used for the weapon.
The suspect will be presented to courts, police further stated.
