Govt. should face the current situation evolving in the UN - Tissa

The government alone should face the situation that has evolved at the United Nations in Geneva, UNP General Secretary MP Tissa Attanayake stated.
He said that the UNP cannot use vote in favour or against the country in this regard while adding that if the government fails to implement the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC), international organizations will enter the country to conduct inquiries about the final stages of the war.
He went on to state that the government has only managed to destroy the independent judiciary that was within the country, adding that UNHRC will discuss the inability of the government to implement the recommendations they promised to uphold.
