The Private Bus Owners Association (PBOA) will engage in an island wide protest if the government does not provide them with some sort of relief before February 15, President of the PBOA Gemunu Wijeyratne stated.
He said that according to the annual bus fare revision the government should grant a bus fare hike or provide the bus operators with some other form of relief.
Wijeyratne stated that costs of tires and spare parts have risen steeply while adding that the government has provided relief for SLTB buses but not for private bus operators.
Speaking at a press conference held today (February 6) in Colombo, the President of the PBOA demanded that the government provide some sort of relief.
