UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara says that a group of police officers had searched his residence in Nugegoda yesterday and the day before, and expressed disapproval to the search which he claims was carried out without any basis.
The parliamentarian stated that only his daughter was present at the time of the search and that he later found out the officers had not possessed a search warrant.
When contacted by Ada Derana regarding the issue, the police spokesman stated that police had acted on information received by the emergency hotline – 119, which had claimed that a woman was being forcefully detained at the house.
