High-ranking Moratuwa police officers transferred

Four police officers attached to the Moratuwa Police Station, including a Headquarter Inspector (HQI), a Chief Inspector (CI) and two Sub-inspectors (SIs), have been transferred with immediate effect.

They have been transferred to Police Field Force Headquarters in Colombo as order by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), police media spokesman’s office said today.

The Moratuwa Police had come under fire recently due to the manner in which it had handled the murder of the chief monk of the Sunandopanandaramaya Temple in Egoda Uyana.
