Man held with foreign currency worth Rs3.2 million

A person who attempted to board a flight to Maldives with foreign currency valued at around Rs. 3.2 million was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport, a customs official said.
US dollars 25,610 and 500 Singapore dollars were found inside his laptop bag upon being searched last night, customs superintendent G.G. Premasiri said.
The suspect, a resident of Colpetty, frequently visits Maldives and is said to be an official in charge of finances in the hotel sector.
