Ambassador Asitha Perera recalled from Rome

Sri Lanka’s ambassador in Italy Asitha Perera has been recalled by the External Affairs Ministry and the letter of recall had been dispatched today by the Foreign Secretary, confirmed sources told the Ada Derana a short while ago.
Asitha Perera’s recall comes in the wake of several continued complaints from Sri Lankans working and residing in Italy about his weak performance and conducts while being Sri Lanka’s ambassador in Italy.
There had been a massive demonstration yesterday in front of the Sri Lankan embassy in Rome as well against Perera’s performance as Sri Lanka’s envoy in Italy.
