Enjoining order against Film Corp extended

The Colombo District Court today extended till February 28 the enjoining order issued against the Chairman of the State Film Corporation.
Several film producers and directors including Director Somaratne Dissanayake had filed a petition seeking an order preventing the State Film Corporation and its chairman from restricting the distribution of the initial screening of a film to 35 copies.
The initial enjoining order was issued on February 08 while when the case was taken up today, defence lawyers had requested that the order be revoked.
However, the enjoining order was extended effective until February 28, when the case will be taken up again.
