
The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association says it will consider increasing ticket fares in view of the hike in diesel prices.
LPBOA Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne stated that they are still waiting with much hope for fuel concessions.
He, however, said that the members of the association will discuss the issue and reach a final dicision.
Wijeratne requested the government to provide fuel concessions instead of increasing bus fares.
The CPC increased the price of Super Diesel by 3 Rupees per litre while the price of Auto Diesel was hiked by Rs.6 with effect from today.
The new price of a litre of Auto Diesel is Rs.121 and Super Diesel is Rs.145.
Lanka IOC, however, has not increased diesel prices yet.
