Former secretary to the Ministry of Media and Information, W.B. Ganegala assumed duties as the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) today.
Ganegala served the Ministry of Mass Media and Information from 2004 to 2007 and has also functioned as Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum and Petroleum Resources Development.
An experienced Sri Lanka Administrative Service Officer, he has held a number of key posts in the Government service.
He has served as a deputy director of the Department of Small Industries and Director of the National Design Centre.
He became a Senior Assistant Secretary to the President in 1997 and later, Additional Secretary in November 2001.
He served as the Chief of Staff of the President from February 2003 to April 2004.
