Court halts probes into Kelaniya PS

The Colombo High Court today issued an interim injunction effective until March 27 halting investigations into the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha.
The order was issued after a petition was filed by PS members, alleging that Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervin Silva is attempting to interfere with the administration of the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha, was taken up today.
Court ordered that investigations being conducted by Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga and retired High Court Judge Dudley Karunaratna be halted.
