Sarath Fonseka ill, Lalith Weeratunga summoned

Former army chief Sarath Fonseka could not present himself before Colombo High Court today, when the case filed against him and retired army Captain Senaka de Silva was taken up for hearing, due to an illness, Ada Derana reporter said.
Attorney Rukshan Nanayakkara, representing Fonseka, producing a medical certificate informed court that the former Army Commander was unable to appear before the court as he had taken ill.
After taking this into consideration High Court Judge Kumudini Wickramasinghe postponed the case, filed by the Attorney-General, to May 27.
The judge also issued summons to the 26th witness in the case, Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga to appear at court on that date.
