Army soldier arrested over abduction of teenage girl

A 21 year old Army soldier has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 15 year old schoolgirl whom he is said to have had a relationship with.
The girl was abducted and taken to a house in the Diwulweva area in Anamaduwa three days ago. The girl and the soldier had been living together in the house for the past three days, it is reported.
The missing girl’s parents had notified the police while the Anamaduwa police had discovered the two living in the area.
The girl was taken to the Puttalam base hospital for a medical checkup while the arrested soldier will be presented to the Puttalam District Court.
