The Chief Executive Officer of SLC Ajit Jayasekara, who conducted an inquiry into the recent behavior of Sri Lankan speedster Lasith Malinga towards media personnel, has recommended that the star cricketer be “censured and advised” on his behavior.
The slinger was rough with the media last Monday at the cricket headquarters when he arrived to resolve the contract signing row involving national cricketers.
The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket on Tuesday directed the SLC CEO to conduct an Inquiry into the two incidents that took place outside SLC headquarters
“Mr Ajit Jayasekera, CEO SLC, conducted an inquiry on the Lasith Malinga incident and in his report to the Executive Committee, recommended that Malinga be censured and advised on his behaviour when dealing with the press in the future, considering his standing in the game,” SLC said.
The SLC executive committee has accepted his recommendations and appointed a 3-member committee to advise Malinga on his behaviour.
The Executive Committee appointed Camillus Abeygunawardena (Retired DIG and Ex Co Member), Harigupta Rohanadeera (Attorney at Law and Ex Co Member) and Ajit Jayasekera (CEO, SLC) to speak to Lasith Malinga on this matter.
