24-year-old youth killed in grenade attack in Tissamaharama

A 24 year old youth was killed in a hand grenade attack during a clash between two groups in the Uduwila area in Tissamaharama last night (March 11), police stated.
The incident occurred near the Sudupalama in Uduwila while police reported that the a clash between two groups spun violently out of control while one youth was killed after shots were fired and a hand grenade was thrown.
Five others who were injured in the clash were admitted to the Hambantota hospital.
Police stated that the reason for the clash was a disagreement that took place last Saturday (March 9) at a wedding.
The youth who was killed was a resident of the Debarawewa area of Tissamaharama.
