Suspect arrested over abduction in Puttalam

Puttalam Police have arrested one suspect over the abduction and assaulting of two students.

The suspect was taken into custody last night while the vehicle allegedly used for the abduction was found in Mullipuram, Puttalam.

The two students, brothers aged 16 and 17, were abducted on Wednesday at around 8.00pm from Noor Junction in Puttalam by a group traveling in a jeep.

They were badly beaten before being dropped off at a deserted location near the Puttalam Town.

One of the victims was admitted to the Puttalam hospital with critical injuries.

Police believe a love affair to be the reason behind the abduction.
