Police search for suspect following Rs.1.7 million fraud

The Chilaw police have begun investigations on a suspect who is allegedly involved in a fraud worth Rs.1.7 million in which he promised to prepare two visas.
A resident of Marawila made a complaint to the police stating that the suspect had extracted Rs.1.7 million from him between July 20, 2012 and December 20.
However, the victim did not know the suspect’s name or permanent residence while the Chilaw police have begun investigations into the case.
