As a country, Sri Lanka’s water management has not been 100% completed President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated while addressing a gathering today (March 20) at the BMICH in view of the World Water Day.
Every resource should be managed properly in order to ensure a safer country and a better tomorrow for our future generations, the President stated in his speech.
He said that country had 107 rivers and natural water bodies which should be considered as the nation’s life source while adding that a large share of water is being wasted which will lead to losses in the agricultural sector.
The President reminded the public that they have a responsibility to avoid water pollution.
The exhibition at the BMICH regarding the World Water Day will continue until March 22.
