VIDEO: US presents resolution; Much remains to be done in Sri Lanka

US presenting the resolution on Sri Lanka at the 22ndsession of the UNHRC stated that the resolution identifies the steps taken by Sri Lanka towards reconciliation there is much that remains to be done. U.S. Ambassador to the Human Rights Council Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe added that Sri Lanka must take meaningful steps for accountability.

 

Donahoe stated that the resolution calls for Sri Lanka to implement the LLRC recommendations and those in the report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay. US called the UNHRC to adopt the resolution.


Voting on the resolution will take place shortly. AWAIT UPDATE...
