
Three suspects including a foreign national have been arrested in Mirijjawila, Hambantota for the possession of meat of animals such as crocodile, pangolin and soft-shelled turtle, considered highly protected species in Sri Lanka.
The meat was discovered by wildlife officials, acting on information received, at a restaurant in Mirijjawila.
The arrested suspects were produced at the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court and released on a bail of Rs 370,000.
