A person was killed when a trishaw collided with a lorry on the Kantale-Trincomalee road, police stated. The trishaw was traveling towards Trincomalee while the lorry was heading to Colombo when the accident took place.
The victim was a 33 year old resident of Kantale while the lorry driver was taken into custody over the incident.
The Kantale police are conducting further inquiries.
