
The government at no point will allow religious segregation and segmentation in Sri Lanka, Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena said today. At a press briefing in Colombo he added that racial and religious harmony is a foremost aspiration of the government and it will strive to maintain it stringently.
Maithripala conceded that a few incidents did take place that threatened the harmony however adding that the government or any parties aligned with the government were not involved in such incidents.
