Japanese national arrested with jewelry, foreign currency

A Japanese national has been arrested for attempting to leave the country with jewelry worth around Rs 10.3 million and foreign currency, a customs official said.
The suspect was taken into custody last night by customs officers while the foreign currency found in his possession is estimated to be worth over Rs 3 million, customs spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
Further inquiries are being conducted into the Japanese national, who was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport, he told Ada Derana.
