
Three suspects have been arrested after robbers made off with cash and jewelry worth over Rs 4.4 million from a pawning center in Kadugannawa.
Three unidentified armed men had stormed into a pawning center located in Danthure, Kadugannawa yesterday and had stolen the jewelry and cash at gun point before successfully fleeing the crime scene.
Police said the estimated value of the stolen items and cash is around Rs. 4,450, 000.
The manageress of the pawning center, a female cashier and another suspect have been arrested over the armed robbery following police investigations.
Police said that all the stolen money and jewelry have been recovered and that arrested suspects will be produced at the Kandy Magistrate’s Court.
