VIDEO: Two killed after inhaling poisonous gas

Two hotel employees died after inhaling poisonous gas when they went down to clean a drainage line in a hotel located in Attidiya, Dehiwala while another was hospitalized after falling unconscious.
An employee had initially entered the drainage chamber by breaking a layer of concrete in order to repair a block in the hotel’s water drainage system.
He had become unconscious and another employee had entered the chamber in order to rescue him. However, they had both died due to inhaling poisonous gas, police said.
Another individual who had attempted to rescue them both was hospitalized after he too had become unconscious.
The victims, in their thirties, are said to be residents of Agarapathana and Metigahathenna.
