Person dies on A-9 after landmine explodes

A person who was engaged in the removal of mines was killed on the A-9 road in Muhamalai when a landmine had exploded.
The victim was an employee of an organization engaged in the demining process in the North, it was reported.
The incident took place this afternoon (April 8) while the victim succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized.
The Kilinochchi police will conduct further investigations into the incident.
