A woman was killed after being struck by a train on the Eravur, Batticaloa train track. The train was traveling from Batticaloa to Colombo at the time of the incident, police stated.
The victim was a 32 year old resident of Batticaloa, the Police Media Spokesman stated.
The body of the victim was taken to the Batticaloa hospital while the post mortem will be conducted there.
