Man arrested transporting 3kg ganja in bus

A suspect has been arrested while transporting 3 kilograms of marijuana in a bus by officers of the Puttalam DIG’s Office today.
The 35-year-old suspect from Ganemulla was arrested along with the haul of illicit narcotics in Mampuriya-Kalpitiya.
The Puttalam DIG’s Office had received information that the suspect was involved in transporting and distributing large quantities of ganja from Kalpitiya for a long period of time.
Therefore he was constantly observed and followed before being arrested inside the bus, police said.
The suspect and ganja haul have been handed over to Kalpitiya Police to be produced at Puttalam District Court.
