A suspect has been arrested with several counterfeit currency notes in the Muwangala area in Ampara.
Police said seven fake Rs 1,000 notes and two Rs 500 notes were found in the suspect’s possession.
He was produced at the Ampara Magistrate’s Court and released on personal bail of Rs 50,000.
Ampara Police is conducting further investigations.
