A worker assisting in the repair of the Thanamalwila-Sooriyaweva road in Lunugamwehera died after being run over by a roller, police stated.
The victim was a 21 year old youth and a resident of Dambulla.
The driver of the roller was taken into custody over the incident and is due to be presented before the Tissamaharama Magistrate Court today (April 23).
