The body of an elderly woman has been discovered after it washed ashore in the Sinnapalamule Beach, Akkaraipattu today.
The body has been identified as a 75-year-old woman from Hindu Temple Road in Akkaraipattu who had been suffering from a mental illness, police said.
Akkaraipattu Police is conducting further investigations regarding the discovered body.
