PS member knocks down mother, daughter

A mother and daughter were injured and hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle driven by a member of the Udubaddawa Pradeshiya Sabha last night, police said.
The two victims were returning after visiting the Temple on Bak Full Moon Poya Day when they were hit by the double cab at around 7.30pm.
They were admitted to the Dankotuwa Hospital and later transferred to the Negombo Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, a UNP member of the Udubaddawa Pradeshiya Sabha, has been arrested by Dankotuwa Police along with the vehicle while further investigations are ongoing.
