UPDATE: Two dead, 2 injured as van topples on expressway

A van veered off the road and toppled in Pinnaduwa on the Southern Expressway this morning resulting in the death of two persons -including a female, and injuring two others.
The van was traveling towards Galle from Kottawa when the accident occurred between 5.30 – 5.45am today, police said.
The wounded persons were rushed to the Karapitiya Hospital, however two of them had succumbed to injuries several hours later.
The victims are said to be a 77-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman.
