An Army soldier murdered his lover and then hanged himself in the Kadulupotta area in Pannala, Kurunegala an Ada Derana correspondent reported.
The soldier had slit his lover’s throat and then hanged himself on a mango tree.
The murdered victim was 25 years old and worked as a graduate clerk at the Pannala Pradeshiya Sabha while the Army soldier was a resident of the Kolonnawa area.
The incident had taken place at around 8.05am this morning (April 29) while the soldier’s body was taken to the Sandalanka hospital and the girl’s body was taken to the Kuliyapitiya hospital.
