Protest march against increased electricity tariff on May 9

The People’s Movement Against the Increased Electricity Bill will stage a protest march on May 9 against the electricity tariff hike which was met with widespread public criticism.
Around 150 Trade Unions and organizations have pledged their support to the protest march, the Convener of the movement, Saman Ratnapriya stated.
He also said that the movement will hold talks with several political parties on the same day.
A protest against the electricity tariff increase was also held last evening (April 29) in the Kandana area.
