Showers or thundershowers are expected to continue at several places over most provinces of the Island during the afternoon or evening. Misty conditions are expected at some places in interior parts of the island, the Department of Meteorology said.
There may be temporary localized fairly strong winds during thundershowers, the Met Department said while requesting the public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activities.
Meanwhile the Disaster Management Center (DMC) stated that despite heavy showers affecting several parts of the island, no disaster situations have been reported so far.
Authorities are prepared to take necessary steps in case of such an emergency situation, the Assistant Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili said.
