A 21 year old youth drowned while swimming in the ocean off the Kalmulla beach in Payagala, police stated. The incident had taken place while the youth was with a group of his friends.
The victim was a resident of the Kalutara area, police reported.
The Payagala police are conducting further investigation regarding the death of the youth.
