
The Education Ministry has opened up disciplinary investigations against principals of nine prominent national schools in the country.
The allegations leveled against the principals include not adhering to Ministry circulars, unethical use of funds and problems concerning their lifestyles, a senior source at the Ministry told Ada Derana.
The disciplinary investigations were launched after several complaints were received regarding their conduct while stern action will be taken against the principals if the allegations are proved.
The Education Ministry stated that the principal of the Embilipitiya National College was found to have mishandled funds and was immediately removed from his position.
