A Badulla-bound mail train arriving from Colombo Fort has derailed near the Nanu Oya railway station this morning. The train’s engine and one carriage had derailed causing minor delays in the upcountry railway line, a railway official said.
Steps are currently underway to get the derailed cars back on track, said Sri Lanka Railway Deputy Superintendent of Transport Gamini Seneviratne, however, adding that the public could experience a slight delays in train traveling along the upcountry line.
