Three students between the ages of 16 -18 have been arrested by police after they attempted to purchase a mobile phone recharge card from a shop in Ragam using a counterfeit Rs 1,000 currency note.
Police said the suspects were arrested last evening according to information recievied by the 119 police emergency hotline.
They are to be produced at the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.
