Karandeniya PS member accused of molesting woman

Police have launched investigations into an incident where an intoxicated UPFA member of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha had allegedly sexually molested a woman.
The 36-year-old woman, in a complaint filed lodged with the Uragasmanhandiya Police, claims that her husband and the PS member in question had consumed alcohol together and the politician had later attempted to molest her.
The PS member’s wife had also been present at the time of the incident, the Police Spokesman’s Office said.
The Pradeshiya Sabha member and the victim’s husband have disappeared while Uragasmanhandiya Police are conducing further investigations into the incident, which had reportedly taken place on May 10.
