According to the results released by the elections commissioner for the 2010 General Elections Ajith Mannapperuma who contested for Gampaha District under the UNP is tipped to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena.
Mannapperuma was the former Mayor of the Gampaha District and a current WPC member.
