Decisions taken concerning environmental issues should be fair, equal to all and unbiased, President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated while addressing the International Conference of Asian Political Parties in Shiyang, China.
The current environmental crises have been aggravated not by developing countries but by the high consumption of the industrial nations.
The President stressed that leaders are not the owners of nature but its keepers.
He added that the concept of the balance between industrial development and environmental preservation is at the forefront of any economic agenda in the country while he also highlighted the importance of regional support in this endeavor.
