Emphasizing on the need for an all-inclusive political solution for the grievances of the Tamils, President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said that Sri Lanka cannot import a solution and that it cannot be a “Rajapaksa-Sampanthan agreement.”
“All parties must get together for an all-inclusive political solution. We cannot import a solution, and it cannot be a Rajapaksa-Sampanthan agreement,” the President told a visiting Indian Parliamentary delegation.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led team, which is currently on a tour in Sri Lanka, met with President Rajapaksa today (07).
The six member Indian team, which has a representative of the Shiv Sena (Suresh Prabhu), an RSS official (Ram Madhav), a political commentator (Swapan Dasgupta) and a human rights activist cum advocate (Monika Arora), had toured the Northern Province and on Thursday met MPs from the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).
