Chairman of the Embilipitiya Pradeshiya Sabha M.K. Amila further remanded until June 18 in connection with the alleged assault on two police officers.
The PS chairman had been earlier been absconding for nearly a week after assaulting two Constables attached to the Panamura Police Station. He surrendered to the Embilipitiya Magistrate Court through a lawyer on June 4 where he was remanded until June 12.
