Representatives of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) are preparing for a visit to India within the next couple of days, following an invitation extended by the Indian Government, internal party sources told Ada Derana.
It is said that the invitation was extended by the Centre after the Tamil party had informed of the prevailing situation in the country pertaining to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.
It is reported that the TNA group are expected to meet and hold discussion with high level state officials, during the visit to India.
The Tamil National Alliance has repeatedly expressed its opposition to the government’s proposal to amend or dilute the 13th Amendment, which has sparked debate among politicians as well as the public.
