Ten persons arrested while attempting to illegally set sail from SL

Police arrested ten persons for illegally attempting to set sail from the Kattankuddy beach, the police media spokesman’s office stated.

 

The police had conducted the raid after being tipped off by sources.

 

Police also apprehended the suspect who had sponsored the ten men to travel illegally.

 

The suspects were residents of Palali, Chavakachcheri and Kattankudy, police stated. The water bottles, soft drinks, dry rations and medical supplies were seized by the police.

 

The suspects will be presented to the Batticaloa Magistrate Court today (June 13).
