One man killed and 13 injured when bus crashes into dansala

One man was killed and another 13 persons injured when a bus veered off the road and crashed into a dansala on the Baduraliya-Kalawana road near the Morapitiya junction last night (June 23).
The incident took place around 9pm while the bus was traveling from Baduralita to Athweltota.
The victim who was killed in the accident was a resident of the Kahawatta area, police stated.
Nine of the injured victims were taken to the Baduraliya hospital while another four were rushed to the Nawala base hospital.
The Baduraliya police arrested the bus driver following the incident while further investigations are taking place.
